I’ve always loved steamed egg dishes. Growing up, my grandma was the master of cooking this ground pork, duck egg, steamed egg dish, that was a favourite for everyone. There’s something about the silky smooth savoury custard like dish that makes my tummy smile. 

The Japanese have their own version of the steamed egg dish and it’s called chawanmushi. It’s full of delicious ingredients like shrimp and fish cakes and veggies and more!  One of my all-time favourite novels is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Sometimes I like to close my eyes and imagine that I’m savoring pistachio gelato in Italy with her, experiencing the sereneness of the ashram in India or riding through the rice paddies in Bali to visit the all-knowing Ketut.

Quick Dinner Idea: Baked Eggs + Sausage

Got only half an hour to prepare your dinner? Here’s a lovely quick comfort food recipe I’m sure you’ll all enjoy. I also want to introduce our very first guest blogger, Kay. She’s my younger sister who often cooks these delicious recipes at home.

Recently, our mom has been out of town, so we alternate cooking at home. Since we had soooo much bread leftover from the previous week, we decided to repurpose them into this meal as toast!
